Day 7 — Daniel • Conviction in a Compromised World
📜 Background
Daniel was a young man when Babylon conquered Jerusalem. Torn from his home, taken into a foreign land, surrounded by new customs, new values, and new expectations — Daniel could have blended in, lowered his standards, or quietly compromised.
But he didn’t.
Scripture tells us something extraordinary:
“Daniel purposed in his heart not to defile himself.” (Daniel 1:8)
He made a decision early.
He drew a line before the pressure came.
He decided who he was before anyone tried to redefine him.
And God honored him for it.
Daniel outlived multiple kings.
He rose to the highest levels of leadership.
He influenced empires without losing his soul.
How did he do it?
He stayed committed to a quiet discipline that shaped his entire life.
