Struggles and Isolation
Seymour’s life was not triumphant in the modern sense.
By the 1910s, the Azusa revival had diminished. Other Pentecostal leaders emerged with larger platforms. Seymour did not build a massive denomination under his own name.
He remained pastor of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Los Angeles until his death in 1922.
He died relatively poor.
Without institutional acclaim.
Without knowing how globally influential Azusa would become.
History often honors those who organize movements.
But sometimes the greatest legacy belongs to those who ignite them.
