The Purpose and Mission of the God-Man
The Person of Christ is not a theological abstraction but the living bridge between heaven and earth.
Through His divine nature, He reveals God perfectly; through His human nature, He represents humanity completely.
As Immanuel, He embodies God’s faithfulness to dwell with His creation.
“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” — 1 Timothy 2:5 (NASB)
Erickson notes: “In Christ, God does not merely send redemption—He becomes redemption.”
The incarnation is the demonstration of divine love at its most personal level.
Cottrell adds: “What God required, He provided in Himself. The Savior is not merely sent by God—He is God.”
Thus, Jesus Christ stands as the High Priest (Hebrews 7:25), the King (Revelation 19:16), and the Prophet (John 1:18).
He fulfills the offices of heaven and unites them in one perfect Person.
The Kingdom Vision (Munroe)
Dr. Myles Munroe described Christ as “the King who came to restore a Kingdom, not to start a religion.”
He taught that through Jesus, humanity regains its royal assignment as co-regents of creation.
“Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.” — Matthew 6:10 (NASB)
This means the Person of Christ is not just Savior but Sovereign.
He restores the divine order—God’s rule in the hearts of believers—so that His kingdom spreads through righteous living, truth proclamation, and Spirit-empowered authority.
Cottrell calls this “the ethical outworking of the incarnation—God’s presence made manifest in human obedience.”
