The Threeness Revealed in Scripture
At Jesus’ baptism (Matthew 3:16–17), all three Persons of the Godhead act in harmony: the Father speaks from heaven, the Son obeys in baptism, and the Spirit descends as a dove.
Jesus’ claim, ‘I and the Father are one’ (John 10:30), and ‘He who has seen Me has seen the Father’ (John 14:9), affirm the shared divinity of Father and Son. Wayne Grudem writes: “Jesus identifies Himself fully with the divine nature of the Father, yet without eliminating personal distinction.”
The Holy Spirit as Divine Person
The Holy Spirit is not an impersonal force but a divine Person who teaches, guides, and grieves (John 14:26; Ephesians 4:30). Jack Cottrell calls Him ‘the executive of the Godhead — active in creation, conviction, and regeneration.’
