The Voices at the Cross
The scene is filled with sound:
- Soldiers casting lots for His garments
- Leaders scoffing, “He saved others; Himself He cannot save”
- Passersby shaking their heads
And yet, above the noise, Jesus speaks:
“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do” (Luke 23:34).
Forgiveness… in the middle of execution.
Grace… in the face of rejection.
The Darkness Falls
“Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour” (Luke 23:44).
Midday becomes night.
Creation responds.
Something cosmic is happening.
This is not just a man dying.
This is the weight of sin…
being carried.
