King Herod — Power That Refused to Bow
Another who missed Christmas was King Herod.
Herod:
- Murdered his wife
- Killed three of his sons
- Executed relatives who threatened his throne
When the Magi arrived asking about a newborn King, Herod panicked.
Did he want to worship Jesus?
No.
He wanted to eliminate Him.
Herod feared losing control.
And many still do.
When Christ Threatens the Throne
Herod’s heart still echoes today:
“You will not have my throne.
You will not tell me how to live.
I will not give this up to serve You.”
You cannot crown Christ and cling to your throne.
The Magi — The Ones Who Got It Right
The Magi:
- Searched
- Found the King
- Worshiped Him
- Offered gifts
Gold.
Frankincense.
Myrrh.
Enough for the journey ahead.
God was already working things out.
