An Unexpected Door Opens
“Then one of the twelve, called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests…” (Matthew 26:14)
The words are staggering.
Not a stranger.
Not an enemy.
Not a distant critic.
One of the twelve.
Judas has walked with Jesus. Heard His teaching. Witnessed His miracles. Sat at the table. Held the money bag. Shared in the mission.
And yet… something has shifted.
Luke gives us a chilling insight:
“Then Satan entered Judas” (Luke 22:3).
This is not merely a bad decision.
It is a spiritual surrender.
The Price of Betrayal
Judas approaches the leaders with a question:
“What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” (Matthew 26:15)
Not why.
Not should I.
How much?
They count out the price:
