Weakness Becomes Strength
Paul’s later writings reveal how thoroughly his perspective changed.
The man who once trusted his accomplishments learned to boast in weakness.
The man who once relied upon force learned to depend upon grace.
The man who once sought prominence learned to serve.
He testified:
“Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
This may be the clearest evidence of his transformation. Saul believed strength came from personal achievement. Paul learned that true strength comes from dependence upon Christ.
Walking Along the Way
Saul’s conversion is not merely a story about salvation; it is a story about formation. Christ confronted his pride, exposed his limitations, and redirected his gifts toward Kingdom purposes.
The same Lord who transformed Saul into Paul still transforms leaders today.
Our competence may open doors, but only Christ-shaped character enables us to walk faithfully through them.
As Strand 1 reminds us, leadership is not mastered through technique alone. It is formed through surrender, obedience, community, gifting, and transformation under the lordship of Jesus Christ.
May we, like Paul, allow God to transform not only what we do, but who we are becoming.
