A Kingdom Reimagined
Even now, the disciples still ask:
“Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” (Acts 1:6)
They are still thinking politically. Nationally. Immediately.
But Jesus redirects them:
“It is not for you to know times or seasons… but you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses…” (Acts 1:7–8)
The Kingdom is not confined to Israel.
It is expanding to the world.
And they are not called to control the timing—
They are called to carry the message.
The Promise of Power
“You shall receive power…”
Not influence.
Not position.
Power.
But not the kind they expected.
Not political power.
Not military strength.
Spiritual power.
The presence of God… within them.
What Jesus has been beside them—
the Spirit will now be within them.
