The Question That Cannot Be Answered
As they walk, a concern rises:
“Who will roll away the stone from the door of the tomb for us?” (Mark 16:3)
It is a practical question.
A heavy stone.
A sealed tomb.
Roman guards.
An impossible obstacle.
But when they arrive…
The Stone Is Already Moved
“But when they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled away—for it was very large” (Mark 16:4).
The problem they feared…
has already been handled.
Not by human hands.
But by divine power.
Matthew tells us:
“There was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone…” (Matthew 28:2).
The stone was not moved to let Jesus out.
It was moved…
so they could see in.
